Agia Marina
The island's most developed beach resort, 13 km east of Aegina Town on the coast below the Temple of Aphaia. A long sandy bay with sunbeds, beach bars, watersports, and a small village of tavernas behind it. Calm, shallow water good for children.
Kolona Beach (Aegina Town)
The closest swimming to Aegina Town, immediately north of the harbour beside the Kolonna archaeological site. A narrow sandy strip with calm clear water. Ideal for a morning swim before the ferry or an evening dip after visiting the town.
Marathonas
4 km south of Aegina Town, a long sandy beach served by local bus. Calmer and more local-feeling than Agia Marina, with sunbed areas and several good tavernas behind it.
Perdika & Moni Coves
The small beach at Perdika village is pebbly and calm. The real swimming is on Moni islet (5 minutes by water taxi) — crystal clear water, no facilities, and an almost complete absence of other people on weekdays outside July–August.
Souvala
A quiet bay on the north coast with a small port, some fishing boats, and a calm pebbly beach. A working village rather than a resort. The conventional ferry from Piraeus also calls here.
Klima & Portes
Small coves on the southern coast accessible by scooter via rough roads. Minimal facilities. Exceptionally clear water and almost nonexistent crowds. If you have a scooter, the southern coast offers some of the quietest swimming on the island.
